Stock axle bolts are standard-grade steel, they bend under hard riding, even at 15mm. The Heavy Hitter bolt matches stock dimensions exactly (15mm diameter, same length) so there's no modification required, but the 300M construction is in a different class. 300M is an ultra-high-strength alloy used in aerospace and motorsport applications where failure isn't an option. The nitride hardening process adds a surface layer that resists rust and corrosion, which matters because 300M is more reactive than standard steel by nature. The trade-off is worth it: significantly stronger, same fit, longer service life.
